It’s been a long time coming but my brother and I decided to not only explore an international F1 race, but turn it into a motorcycle adventureโ€ฆ

We are leaving Chicago on two wheel American Iron bound for Montreal for a weekend of F1 racing.

Go Lewis! Let’s do this.image

My trusted partner to get me there and back… Thank you Eagle Riders for renting me this.

Stay tuned daily updates and photographs to follow…

Day 0

Landed in Chicago last night after a 1 hr delay at LAX. No worries… Got here safe and am ready for the adventure to begin.

Re-thinking what I can fit on the motorcycle…  10 days. Can I really fit 10 pair of clean undies…. Hummm….

Day 1

1760 mile roundtrip route planned. L

The goal by the end of the day is Canadian border. Although we are not going though Detroit we are going through Flint… So we will need to pack our own water. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Not sure if its the kid in my brother, but we agreed “wheels up” at 10am last night… And I hear “milton, milton… Wake up” at 5am? Really? Go back to sleep!!!! LOL ๐Ÿ˜Š

Weather in route looks great. Bit chilly, but no rain… although race day might be a bit wet… ๐Ÿ˜ž

Got off without a hitch this morning.

100 miles into the ride all is great.

We just hit the 200 mile mark hangin with Big Boy for like lunch…

End of day 1

400 mile ride is completed. No issues, no concerns… perfect day. It was nip and tuck but luckily we did not get rained onโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜

Bedding for the night at the luxurious “Best Western” at the US/Canadian border (last time Freddy makes the hotel planning).

Tomorrow we will do it again.

Day 2

We are heading out to Canada. First stop London then Toronto.

Freddy packing up and getting ready for another awesome day of highway boogie with Bluetooth technology.

On the road to London Ontario Canada. Man 55 degrees at 70 miles an hour for hours at a time is cold!

We had to pull at the town of Milton to warm up. Funny thing… we sneezed and almost missed it. LOL ๐Ÿ˜Š Yup even milton has a McDonald’s… Thank goodness… So much for the Palio diet… ROFLMAO ๐Ÿ˜‚

End of day two we arrived in Toronto.

I turned left on the highway Freddy turned right. I waited and waited but…

But as we do we met up and ended up at the coolest hotel and the only one attached to a baseball stadium.

Day 3

Kingston and perhaps Montreal… We’ll see how it goes…

Breakfast… And we’re off…

Well… the road to Montreal today was just awesome!  Nice warm day beautifully & smooth highways.

That’s Freddy trying to get past me. ๐Ÿ˜‰ really fun running hard for 375 miles on these bikes. Now I’m fully understanding the Harley / Indian obsession.

Arrived in Cornwall safe and sound…

71 miles to Montreal. We will hit that in the morning and then… It’s F1 baby!!!

We arrived safe and sound!

Those “Smart” Canadianians! I love the SMART Car dedicated space. ROFLMAO ๐Ÿ˜‚

Well after checking in, meeting up with Our gracious city host Lise and making our way to the track we all enjoyed a beautiful sunny day watching the cars try out tires and set up adjustments.

Gotta love that fact you can put transitions in video snippets on your iPhone.

Enjoy the very sweet sounding 6-Cylinders of 2016 F1 Cars. โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹

Slept in today… and apparently I snore… “very loudly” according to my brother. (He has video but I’ll spare you all)

I can honestly say that the one thing better than a day of riding might be a good night of sleeping. LOL ๐Ÿ˜Š

Or… Maybe I was just dreaming of the race cars and imitating the sound they make (like the Volkswagen commercial with the dog)….

Well anyway we missed round 3 of practice this morning, but qualifying is at 1pm so hopefully it’s not raining and we can find out way to the track via the metro…

Great day of qualifying!

5th time Q1 at the Canadian Grand Prix… Hopefully it’s is a charm for Hamilton. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพโ€‹โ€‹

Well, for us F1 fans… It think this says it all…

And yes… This is a good thing from where I sit… Which is in Port Huron Michigan looking back at Canada.

We had a great 359 mile ride back to the USA today…

A tad bit of rain hence the bright yellow rain suit (which Freddy calls my space suit) but I was dry…

Tomorrow is the bitter sweet end of an awesome 1800+ mile journey and fantastic destination F1 experience.

I’m going to close this blog with the dedication of this trip to Tom Edwards. One of my best friends (20+ years)… an awesome friend, a true car guy, F1 (and Lewis Hamilton) fan, husband & father, and just a great person. Sadly he died of a heart attack just prior to the start of my trip.

I felt his sprit with me on this journey as I was texting with him just weeks prior to the start of this trip… RIP my friend.
